Getting around Barra

There are many ways to get at Barra Campus, since Barra da Tijuca is one of the places with the largest transportation infrastructure in the city. Barra has a vast system of BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) integrated to the Subway at Jardim Oceânico station. In this way,  Barra has connection with almost the whole city, as well as Tom Jobim-Galeão International Airport. We will explain below the modalities to facilitate the transportation of the delegates to the event.

The users of the Subway System will have two options: Take Subway Green Line 2 and integrate with the BRT System at Vincente de Carvalho Station and access the lines destined for the Alvorada Terminal to then proceed to the "Parador" service lines 21A or 50, both destined to Jardim Oceânico, or take Subway Yellow Line 4 to Jardim Jardim station and access the BRT Terminal, towards lines 21A - Recreio Shopping or 50 - Parque Olímpico. For users of the BRT System, if necessary, change, at Alvorada Terminal, to lines 21A and 50, destined for the Jardim Oceânico Terminal.

IBMR is located just in front of BRT's Afranio Costa / Teatro Nathalia station, served by lines 21A and 50, aforemetioned.

It is also possible to use the dozens of conventional bus lines, leaving the vehicle according to the map, near the Afrânio Costa station of BRT. We recommend using the Moovit application, in view of the countless lines. By clicking on the MetroRio and BRTRio logos aside you will be directed to the company's website, accessing the service map as well as integration options.

We recommend obtaining Transport Card for economy in integration and practicality. In the city of Rio de Janeiro, the most used cards are Bilhete Único Carioca and RioCard (pictures aside), easily obtained in RioCard stores or BRT stations.

From Airports to the Hotel

Those coming from the Tom Jobim-Galeão International Airport to Ibis Barra da Tijuca Hotel, should access the BRT Galeão Stations to Alvorada Terminal, and then, change for any line to Jardim Oceânico Terminal. When arriving at the Terminal, we strongly recommend using taxi for the missing 1.5 km. There are also executive buses that do the commute, as well as taxis. If you prefer to use taxi, we strongly recommend the apps, such as Uber and 99Taxi, instead Airport cabs, due to cost reasons.

Those coming from Santos Dumont Airport shall access the Airport VLT to Cinelândia Subway station and then take Subway Yellow Line No. 4 to Jardim Oceânico. When geting there, we strongly recommend you to take a app taxi for the missing 1.5 km (it will cost around R$7)
